Medfield never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hopedale on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Blue Raiders. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Sophie Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Medfield let Lindsay Barrett and Connie Hillenmeyer run wild. Barrett went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Hillenmeyer went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Hillenmeyer a new career-high. Frankie Cawley also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Medfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win snapped Medfield's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-10 record. As for Millis, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
