It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Clay-Chalkville Cougars had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 win over the Spartans. The victory was just business as usual for Clay-Chalkville, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.
Saraland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ryan Williams, who gained 232 total yards and three touchdowns, and KJ Lacey who threw for 391 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes. Williams' longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards.
Clay-Chalkville's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Saraland, their loss dropped their record down to 14-1.
Clay-Chalkville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Saraland also has no future games currently scheduled.
