The Garden Valley Wolverines lost against the Glenns Ferry Pilots back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Garden Valley took a hard 53-39 fall against Glenns Ferry.
Garden Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aubree Zimmer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. Zimmer is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kadence Jacobs, who scored 15 points.
Glenns Ferry found their leader in underclassman Sahira Arevalo, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Jazmin Arevalo was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Garden Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Glenns Ferry, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Garden Valley will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Cascade at 10:30 a.m. on December 9th. Cascade is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Glenns Ferry won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Idaho City at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th.
