The North Vermillion Falcons entered their tilt with the Clinton Prairie Gophers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. North Vermillion walked away with a 50-42 victory over Clinton Prairie on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
North Vermillion had a senior duo take command as Jerome White threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per attempt and Cody Tryon gained 280 total yards and five touchdowns. Tryon was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 63 yards.
Clinton Prairie's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Seth Whitlock, who rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns, and Steven Mackey who rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns.
North Vermillion's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.6 points per game. As for Clinton Prairie, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
North Vermillion will be playing in front of their home fans against Park Tudor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Park Tudor knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully North Vermillion likes a good challenge. Clinton Prairie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
