It was a good run, but the Mountain Ridge Sentinels unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 67-48 to Farmington. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain Ridge in their matchups with Farmington: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Sentinels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Spencer Krainich, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Wyatt Sylvester was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Mountain Ridge struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leading Farmington to victory were Ethan Atkinson and Paul Beattie. Atkinson scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Beattie dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Atkinson set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Jayden Haskell, who scored 11 points.
Mountain Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Farmington, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Mountain Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mountain View at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th. Farmington will take on Louisville in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Louisville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
