The Fairfield Lions will be playing at home against the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fayetteville-Perry took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fairfield, who comes in off a win.
After only 19 points in their last match, Fairfield made sure to put some points up on the board against Miami Trace on Monday. Fairfield walked away with a 55-43 victory over Miami Trace.
Meanwhile, Fayetteville-Perry fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Lynchburg-Clay on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 55-52. Fayetteville-Perry has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ryley Kleemeyer, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Christina Murphy, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Fairfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. As for Fayetteville-Perry, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Fairfield ended up a good deal behind Fayetteville-Perry in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 56-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fayetteville-Perry's Lilly Carlier, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
