The Whale Branch Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Bridges Prep Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Whale Branch posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 76-11 victory over Royal Live Oaks Academy at home.
It was another big night for Bradford Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Dorien Alston was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Allendale-Fairfax scored an imposing 67 points on Friday, Bridges Prep still came out on top. Bridges Prep took their contest against Allendale-Fairfax 77-67. Given Bridges Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Allendale-Fairfax is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Whale Branch's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Bridges Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Whale Branch was able to grind out a solid win over Bridges Prep in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 64-53. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Bridges Prep's Te'shaun Heyward, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and five steals.
