Baseball Game Preview: Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes vs. Northeast Eagles

The Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes will be taking part in a tournament against the Northeast Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Morristown-Hamblen East has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Morristown-Hamblen East is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 15-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sevier County on Tuesday. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carson Winstead was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Connor Southard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Northeast came up short against Providence Academy on Wednesday, falling 14-1.

Northeast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shamad Parker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Northeast has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. Morristown-Hamblen East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1.
