In what's become a running theme this season, the Casa Roble Rams gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Woodland at home to the tune of 89-48. Given Casa Roble's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Woodland is ranked 1207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Casa Roble was led to victory by Benny Ambriz and Ace Villegas. Ambriz scored 17 points along with three steals, while Villegas dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Ambriz has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last 21 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Preston Scott, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Casa Roble used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Woodland. And. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Edgar Rocha scored three points, while he scored eight points.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joseph Abarca, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abarca has scored all season. Joseph Cadotte was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Casa Roble is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Woodland, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
Casa Roble does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Woodland also has no future games currently scheduled.
