Somerville waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Luling Eagles with a sharp 15-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Yeguas, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Emma Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Abigail Richardson and Aubrey Flencher did most of the damage at the plate: Richardson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Flencher went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Flencher has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Schoenberg, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Somerville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.
