The Porterville Panthers are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Mission College Prep Royals at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. Mission College Prep took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Porterville, who comes in off a win.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Porterville walked away with it. They blew past Pioneer Valley 41-3 on the road. The result was nothing new for Porterville, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Porterville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Enriquez, who threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Dominic Perez did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Mission College Prep fell victim to St. Joseph's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a rough 23-0 defeat at the hands of the Knights. Mission College Prep was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Porterville's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Mission College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
