This season hasn't been kind to the Centralia Tigers, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were the victim of a tough 68-42 loss at the hands of Lakes on Thursday. Centralia lost against Lakes in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-37 score last time.
It was another big night for Samara Oliver, who almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals for Lakes. Those ten steals set a new season-high mark for her. Ehmarii Mcchristian was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Centralia's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Lakes, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centralia will face off against Shelton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Shelton is ranked 219th, while Centralia is ranked 237th). Lakes won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Yelm at 5:30 p.m. on December 29th.
