Lexington is 1-9 against El Paso-Gridley since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lexington Minutemen's road trip will continue as they head out to face the El Paso-Gridley Titans at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Lexington's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Tremont with points to spare, taking the game 53-36.
Lexington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Olson out in front who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Tyler Steffa, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, El Paso-Gridley came tearing into Thursday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Tremont with a sharp 60-39 victory. El Paso-Gridley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.
Lexington is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for El Paso-Gridley, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Lexington strolled past El Paso-Gridley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 58-44. Will Lexington repeat their success, or does El Paso-Gridley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
