It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Parrish Community Bulls can now relate to. They were beaten by Naples 42-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 43 points in the game before, Parrish Community couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jackson Volz threw for 146 yards on 13 of 22 attempts. Jermaine Edwards was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards.
Shawn Simeon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 253 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry. Simeon's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Martavion Young was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Parrish Community has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Naples, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Parrish Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Naples will be playing at home against Port Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Port Charlotte is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
