Joleen Short made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Hazel Chavez was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ava Lanzit, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
