The Southeast Golden Buffalo have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Northwest Grizzlies at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Southeast scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past North, posting a 110-19 victory at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Southeast has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Northwest didn't have too much trouble with the Golden Eagles at home on Friday as they won 63-47. Given Northwest's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Benning, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jerome Henderson, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Southeast pushed their record up to 7-7-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Northwest, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
Southeast might still be hurting after the 71-45 defeat they got from the Grizzlies in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Southeast have more luck at home instead of on the road?
