7A District 7 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Chamberlain moved up to 234 from 262 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 7A District 7. The Chiefs were able to make the jump by falling to Durant 49-0.
Steinbrenner's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Curtis Fitch threw for 131 and two touchdowns and Jon Marc Carrier had 109 yards receiving. On the ground Kendall Pearcey chipped in 156 yards. Pearcey helped Steinbrenner's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Alex McGough of Gaither is the league leader in passing yards this season with 627. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, Chamberlain's Xavier Johnson has rushed for 684 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Carrier. The Steinbrenner star has 13 catches for 310 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tampa Bay Tech takes on the Warriors. The Titans are in second place, while Steinbrenner is in third place.
The Cowboys led 7A District 7 in scoring this week after putting up 33 points on East Bay. Dominic Neglio in the win.
