Comstock Park has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The West Catholic Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Comstock Park earned a 25-18 victory over Newaygo. The victory was just what Comstock Park needed coming off of a 65-12 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, West Catholic put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Fruitport, posting a 58-7 victory at home. The result was nothing new for West Catholic, who have now won eight matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charlie DeBruyn , who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown. Carter Abram made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
West Catholic's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Leading the way was Ethan Stoner and his three sacks.
Comstock Park now has a winning record of 5-4. As for West Catholic, their win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
Comstock Park was dealt a bruising 41-0 defeat at the hands of West Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2020. Can Comstock Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
