Northside faced Southside in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of  3-2. The Grizzlies just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
 In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Northside sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 19-25, 25-15, 22-25,  16-14.
 Paisley Hogan paced Northside's offense, picking up 20 kills. Hogan got some help from  Kamdyn Flemming and her 28 assists. Finally,  Jalliyah Freeman-Rhone kept Northside's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.
Northside's loss dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Southside, they pushed their record up to 19-7-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home.
