The Canby Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hood River Valley with a sharp 78-56 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Canby as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Jaxon Lawson, who shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Brauckmiller, who scored 16 points.
Canby's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Hood River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Canby will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. As for Hood River Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Centennial at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Centennial is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
