The Calexico Mission RoadRunners lost against the Warner Wildcats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Calexico Mission took a hard 56-39 fall against Warner. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calexico Mission in their matchups with Warner: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Calexico Mission saw an underclassman step up: Leonardo Longino scored 27 points. That was a full 69.2% of Calexico Mission's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Leading Warner to victory were Omar Acosta and Angel Carachure. Acosta scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, while Carachure scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calexico Mission will take on San Pasqual Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warner won't have much time to rest: their next game is against The Cambridge School at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
