The Northeastern Jets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 63-43 margin over Mechanicsburg. That 20 point margin sets a new team best for Northeastern this season.
Northeastern found their leader in underclassman Caleb Smith, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Smith pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Neer, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Northeastern's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Mechanicsburg, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern will face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Liberty-Salem will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Mechanicsburg, they will head out on the road to challenge the Roughriders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (West Jefferson is ranked 786th, while the Indians are ranked 810th).
