Jensen Beach is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Jensen Beach will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Jensen Beach is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Port St. Lucie an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.
Tanner Hughes made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Will Rader was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Adrien Orlandi, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Jensen Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. John Paul II Academy, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chiefs have posted since May 21, 2024.
Mike Ragusa looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also put up two walks, which were his first of the season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eddie Marshall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Jensen Beach's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
