The Academy of the Holy Cross took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on St. John's Catholic Prep, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, St. John's Catholic Prep faced Concordia Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. John's Catholic Prep claimed a resounding 66-35 victory over Concordia Prep on the road. With that win, St. John's Catholic Prep brought their scoring average up to 52.3 points per game.
St. John's Catholic Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cayenne Pigeon out in front who scored 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pigeon has scored at least 25% of St. John's Catholic Prep's points. Nadia Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, The Academy of the Holy Cross was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 56-50 to Connelly School of the Holy Child.
The losses dropped St. John's Catholic Prep to 2-1 and Concordia Prep to 1-4.
Everything went St. John's Catholic Prep's way against The Academy of the Holy Cross in their previous matchup back in December of 2014 as St. John's Catholic Prep made off with a 59-37 win.
