The Burbank Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 66-51 bruising from MacArthur. Burbank lost against MacArthur in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 79-56 score last time.
MacArthur was led to victory by Elias Aitmerim and Josh Neira. Aitmerim dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Neira scored 15 points. The game was Aitmerim's third in a row with at least ten points. Marco Leguizamo was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Burbank's loss was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-14. As for MacArthur, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burbank will take on Brackenridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for MacArthur, they will head out on the road to face off against Alamo Heights at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Alamo Heights is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games.
