Castle has gone a perfect 9-0 against Evansville Bosse recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will square off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Castle will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Castle had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt South Spencer on Monday. The Knights never let the Rebels get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
13 must be Evansville Bosse's lucky number: they beat Crothersville with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Bulldogs blew past the Tigers 13-2.
Devin Henry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Evansville Bosse let Mi'Kel Green and Jaxson Klass run wild. Green went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles, while Klass got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, Klass is now averaging an impressive 1.4 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Curtis, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Evansville Bosse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in three consecutive games.
Castle's record is now 6-3. As for Evansville Bosse, their record now sits at 2-3.
Everything went Castle's way against Evansville Bosse when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Castle made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
