Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The San Marino Titans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 28-21 to Redlands on Friday. San Marino has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
San Marino's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Beck, who threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Mikey Yessaian, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Theodore (Teddy) Mcgee, who rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Mcgee was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Fraire, who rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown.
San Marino's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Redlands, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.
San Marino does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Redlands will look to defend their home field on Friday against Torrance at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Torrance is ranked 318th, while Redlands is ranked 336th).
