Baseball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Tri-Valley's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Tri-Valley lost to New Philadelphia back in May of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Scotties were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Quakers. The Scotties might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Tri-Valley got a massive performance out of Daniel Huffman, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Huffman has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Kaufman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Tri-Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Tri-Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for New Philadelphia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-Valley will host Meadowbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Colts have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.53 runs per game on average), something the Scotties will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for New Philadelphia, they will face off against Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
