Friday just wasn't the day for Graham's offense. They lost 16-0 to Southern Alamance on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 30 runs in the game before, the Red Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, Southeast Alamance strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Williams get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. Considering the Stallions have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashtyn Smith and Tatum Shelton made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Smith pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Shelton tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Smith went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Shelton went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That double was Smith's first of the season.
In other batting news, Southeast Alamance let Aubrey Crutchfield and Katie Lloyd run wild. Crutchfield went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Lloyd went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Lloyd has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke Hardister, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Southeast Alamance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Graham's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Southeast Alamance, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Graham suffered a grim 22-7 defeat to Southeast Alamance in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
