North Central AA recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in North Central AA this week, Beloit beat Norton 46-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Trojans.
Minneapolis fell to Phillipsburg 61-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Southeast of Saline's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cody Schlesener threw for 38 yards and Matthew Helvey had 38 yards receiving. On the ground Keith Short contributed 132 yards.
Joey Oste was a key player and the best on defense this week as Russell fell to Hoisington. The 5-foot-9 defensive end recorded 1 fumble.
Helvey was the best wideout in the league this week as the Trojans beat Lyons. Helvey tallied 3 receptions for 38 yards.
Southeast of Saline's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Schlesener has thrown for 856 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Helvey has 22 catches for 408 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Beloit takes on the Lions. Greg Koenig's team is currently in first, while Minneapolis is in fourth.
