Kena Terry and Elizabeth Ozim did most of the damage at the plate: Terry went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Ozim went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Terry a new career-high in runs. Norah Ranaudo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Ocoee had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fightin' Tigers an 18-0 shutout. Considering the Knights have won three games by more than 12 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jadore Thompson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Thompson was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Ocoee let Jayda Solano and Reese Guido run wild. Solano scored three runs while going 1-for-2, while Guido scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Trista Fitzpatrick, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Ocoee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .516 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Foundation Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ocoee, their record now sits at 3-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Foundation Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Ocoee struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Foundation Academy beat Ocoee 8-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Foundation Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ocoee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
