The Whitefield Academy Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 73-72 photo finish over Blue Ridge Christian. Winning may never get old, but Whitefield Academy sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mekhi Jones, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Price, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds.
Whitefield Academy pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Blue Ridge Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
Whitefield Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-49 victory vs. Shawnee Mission Christian on the 9th. Blue Ridge Christian has also already played their next matchup, a 70-34 defeat against Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool on the 8th.
