Victor Valley moved up to 696 from 739 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Desert Sky.
Ahmon Jones was the best wideout in the league this week as Barstow fell to Sultana. Jones racked up one reception for 33 yards. Devonte Tate helped Barstow's passing attack out by catching one ball for 33 yards.
James Noble was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 189 yards on 21 carries as the Aztecs lost to the Sultans. Tracy Venable also contributed to the rushing game with 84 yards on the ground.
Eric Turner put up the best numbers through the air as the Jackrabbits. He finished with 10 completions for 112 yards and one touchdown. Turner's favorite target this week was Davondre Jackson, who caught three passes for 32 yards.
Victor Valley's Turner and Jackson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Desert Sky in both passing and receiving yards. Turner has thrown for 803 yards this season, while Jackson, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 27 catches for 350 yards. Barstow's Noble leads the league in rushing yards with 1127.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Barstow takes on second place Burroughs. Mike Esposito's team fell to Sultana last week, while Burroughs.
There should be lots of points scored when the Aztecs and the Burros face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Barstow comes in having scored 140 this season, while Burroughs has scored 90. The Aztecs scored 24 points last week as they lost to Blake Robbins's team.
Jeff Vanover's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,453 from 10,114.
