Despite the defeat, Boerne had strong showings from Adam Hicks, who rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and Jaxon Baize, who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Boerne's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: La Vernia's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Carlos Moreno requena was especially locked on to La Vernia's QB and sacked him twice.
La Vernia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keegan Hajek out in front who rushed for 49 yards and four touchdowns. La Vernia also got a significant boost from Isaiah Cisneros, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.
Boerne's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for La Vernia, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Boerne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. La Vernia will take on Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davenport is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
