The Walker Wildcats had already won 26 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points), and they went ahead and made it 27 on Friday. They breezed by Dutchtown at home to the tune of 72-30. Walker has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 22 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Kennedi Ard was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with five assists and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Ray?Onna Sterling was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Walker pushed their record up to 29-1 with that victory, which was their 33rd straight at home dating back to last season. As for Dutchtown, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Walker's homestand continues as they prepare to take on East Ascension at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. East Ascension will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Walker is ranked first). As for Dutchtown, they will head out on the road to square off against Live Oak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
