The Carlynton Cougars were the 81-41 winner over the Western Beaver Golden Beavers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Carlynton lost to the Golden Beavers on the road by a decisive 75-60 margin on Tuesday. Carlynton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Carlynton still got an impressive performance from Jaydin Mcknight, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Mcknight is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Western Beaver's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Liller, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Liller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nathan Schwarz, who scored 20 points.
Carlynton's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Western Beaver, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlynton will take on the Scotties at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Union Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Western Beaver, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Avella focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
