The St. Teresa's Academy Stars will challenge the Grandview Bulldogs on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Grandview will be up against a hot St. Teresa's Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went St. Teresa's Academy's way against Kearney on Saturday as St. Teresa's Academy made off with a 43-19 win. Given the Stars' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Teresa's Academy found their leader in sophomore Jazlyn Rhodes, who went 8-for-16 on her way to 17 points and four steals. Rhodes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addi Moylan, who posted 11 points and five steals.
St. Teresa's Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Grandview had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They blew past the Guardians 52-29.
St. Teresa's Academy better focus on containing Lariah Tucker and Taniya Cruthird as the pair were huge in Grandview's win. Tucker earned 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Cruthird put up 11 points and three blocks. Tucker continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lecia Martin, who scored eight points.
St. Teresa's Academy's record is now 18-5. As for Grandview, their record is now 19-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: St. Teresa's Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 24.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Grandview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
St. Teresa's Academy strolled past Grandview when the teams last played back in January by a score of 55-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Teresa's Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
