Basketball Recap: Brewer Skates Past Ardmore with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Limestone, Brewer was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They really took it to the Ardmore Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-36 win. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Tigers are ranked 376th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cason Oden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 of 11 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. Jackson Dunn was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Brewer has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Ardmore, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Brewer has already played their next matchup (against Vinemont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ardmore will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. John Paul II at 7:30 p.m. Ardmore is facing St. John Paul II at the right time seeing as St. John Paul II is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
