SIUE East St. Louis Charter suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 74-47 loss at the hands of Father McGivney Catholic. SIUE East St. Louis Charter was down 58-36 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Father McGivney Catholic found their leader in underclassman Chase Jansen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Jansen's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Keller, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
SIUE East St. Louis Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Father McGivney Catholic, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-15.
SIUE East St. Louis Charter on the road again on Thursday and play against Westfair Christian at 8:15 p.m. on January 25th. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they will be playing at home against Freeburg at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
