San Tan Foothills' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cienna Witcher, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was Witcher's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Abigail Horlacher, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals.
Payson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Clara Whaley out in front who scored 14 points along with 4 steals. Whaley is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mylee Redford was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
San Tan Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Payson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
San Tan Foothills will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wickenburg at 5:30 p.m. As for Payson, they will head out on the road to face off against Bourgade Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
