Estill County hasn't had much luck against Madison Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Meanwhile, Madison Central hadn't done well against Woodford County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Indians blew past the Yellowjackets 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Sydney Smith and Kate Drury made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Smith pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Meanwhile, Drury pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Smith went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Drury went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Smith a new career-high.

Madison Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Estill County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Madison Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Estill County might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Madison Central when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Engineers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
