In what's become a running theme this season, the Cornerstone Christian Cougars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They breezed by Patten Academy at home to the tune of 89-32. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Cornerstone Christian has managed all season.
Leading Cornerstone Christian to victory were Marcus Wagner and AJ McCoy. Wagner scored 17 points, while McCoy scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Lukacs, who scored ten points.
Patten Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Empire Hall, who scored 20 points. That was a full 62.5% of Patten Academy's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Aaron Donahue was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
The victory (which was Cornerstone Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 11-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Patten Academy, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
