It was a good run, but The Wes-Del Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monroe Central. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Wes-Del still got an impressive performance from Triton Blevins, who rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 147 yards and a touchdown.
Lane Wilson looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 26 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes. Ethan Hunt and his 128 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Monroe Central's victory.
Monroe Central's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Eli Goodspeed and his two sacks.
Wes-Del's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Monroe Central, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-5.
Wes-Del does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Monroe Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheridan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
