Ocean City is 6-0 against Wildwood since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Ocean City Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Wildwood Warriors at 10:30 a.m. Ocean City is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Wednesday, Ocean City suffered a tough 63-37 loss at the hands of Our Lady of Mercy Academy.
Despite the defeat, Ocean City saw an underclassman step up: Marley Ostrander scored nine points. Madelyn Adamson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wildwood can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 63-27 win over Salem County Vo-Tech. Given Wildwood's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Salem County Vo-Tech is ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ocean City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Wildwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Ocean City skirted past Wildwood 50-48 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ocean City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
