Wildwood had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors 36-0. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26, 2024.
Wildwood found their leader in freshman Zoey Brown, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 75 yards and three touchdowns. Brown also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making two total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Wildwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trinidy Harris and Brown. Brown's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked her third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Seven Rivers Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Looking ahead, Wildwood is taking a road trip to challenge St. Cloud at 6:00 p.m. on March 26th. St. Cloud's defense has only allowed 9.3 points per game this season, so Wildwood's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hernando at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Hernando 7.6, Seven Rivers Christian 14.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
