The Charleston Math & Science Riptide's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 68-14 loss at the hands of Cross. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Charleston Math & Science has scored all season.
Charleston Math & Science's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dalailyn Reed, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Webb, who scored five points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cross to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Middleton, who scored 21 points along with six steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Zhania Fredricks, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals.
Charleston Math & Science dropped their record down to 2-18 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
Charleston Math & Science will be playing in front of their home fans against the NaviGators at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cross, they will head out on the road to challenge the Islanders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
