Farina South Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats 61-45. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Bobcats are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Farina South Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Farina South Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-19 loss against Dieterich on the 27th. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Shelbyville at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
