Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Ridge). They enjoyed a cozy 70-51 win over the Mitchell Mustangs on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Royal Knights as they're now sitting on five straight.
Despite the defeat, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaylana Little posted 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. Little is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Coure, who had 11 points and eight rebounds.
River Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Mitchell, they moved to 13-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
