The Idalia Wolves won the last time they faced the Hi-Plains Patriots, and things went their way on Saturday too. Idalia rang in the new year with a 32-21 win over Hi-Plains. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Idalia.
It was another big night for Ailyn Monarrez, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Wieser, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Hi-Plains saw an underclassman step up: Addison Henschel scored four points along with three steals.
Idalia's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Hi-Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Idalia and Deer Trail will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Deer Trail is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Hi-Plains, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Arickaree at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: JANIYA SMITH and Caelan Church.
