The Parrish Community Bulls will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the IMG Academy Gray Ascenders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Parrish Community made easy work of IMG Academy Gold and carried off a 13-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulls.
Tyler Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Daniel Norbeck looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit, only an earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, Jayden Peters was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Jonathan Maassen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, IMG Academy Gray took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over Central Pointe Christian Academy. The win continues a trend for the Ascenders in their matchups with the CPCA: they've now won three in a row.
Norm Cherrett looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Troy Carpenter, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was JD Westveld, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Parrish Community was able to grind out a solid victory over IMG Academy Gray in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Does Parrish Community have another victory up their sleeve, or will IMG Academy Gray turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
